Tragic Murders in Delhi: Two Lives Lost in Separate Incidents

In a tragic series of events, two men in Delhi tragically lost their lives in unrelated incidents in different parts of the city. The incidents took place in Kusumpur Pahadi, near Vasant Vihar in South Delhi, and Rohtak Road in the Punjabi Bagh area of West Delhi, between Monday and Tuesday.

Suspect Arrested in Kusumpur Pahadi Murder

Authorities reported that a suspect has been detained in relation to the murder in Kusumpur Pahadi, while investigations into the Rohtak Road incident are still ongoing. The Kusumpur Pahadi murder took place in the early hours of Tuesday, with local police receiving a distress call at around 6 am.

On arrival at the scene, officers discovered the lifeless body of a 35-year-old local man named Ashwini Kumar. His throat had been brutally slit, with evidence suggesting the assailant used a shattered liquor bottle. Pieces of broken glass littered the vicinity, hinting at a possible altercation preceding the murder.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest), Rohit Meena, confirmed that a person of interest has been apprehended. The individual confessed to the crime, and further details will be disclosed shortly.

Punjabi Bagh Stabbing Still Unsolved

In the other tragic incident, a 30-year-old man was found grievously injured near Pillar No 191 at Rohtak Road, close to Punjabi Bagh in West Delhi. The unfortunate victim, identified as Monu Singh, was discovered bleeding profusely from stab wounds by a passerby in the early hours of Monday.

DCP Vichitra Veer of West Delhi confirmed that Singh succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The case, initially filed as an attempt to murder, has been updated to a murder investigation following Singh’s demise. Multiple police teams are currently working on the case, with an urgent hunt underway to find the perpetrator.

These tragic incidents highlight the ongoing struggle with violent crime in some areas of Delhi and underscore the urgency for robust law enforcement.
