This bustling region, typically known for its vibrant nightlife and busy commerce, became the backdrop for a horrifying crime spree orchestrated by 28-year-old Artell Cunningham.

On the evening of Jan. 29, Cunningham intruded into Gill’s parked car and opened fire. The assailant then fled the scene, embarking on a carjacking spree that resulted in the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Alberto Vasquez Jr. The police eventually intercepted and shot Cunningham in New Carllton, MD, bringing his terrifying rampage to an end.
