Gruesome Axe Attack in Madhya Pradesh
In a terrifying incident in India’s heartland, Madhya Pradesh, a five-year-old boy was brutally chopped to death by his uncle, while his mother suffered serious injuries. The shocking event took place in the quiet, rural Barkachh village within the jurisdiction of the Beohari police station in the Shahdol district.
The Unfortunate Night
This tale of horror unfolded on a serene Saturday night. The accused, identified as Ramla Kol, a 30-year-old local resident, had visited his elder brother’s home. He had requested tobacco from Sukkhi Bai, his sister-in-law. However, she didn’t have any at home and denied his request.
Triggered by Denial
Angered by the refusal, Ramla allegedly stormed into the woman’s home around 11 pm. He viciously attacked Sukkhi Bai and her young son with an axe as they lay sleeping, before making his escape from the scene.
The boy tragically succumbed to his injuries, while his mother was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. The local police, led by in-charge Mohan Padwar, swiftly reacted to the incident and apprehended the accused. Ramla Kol is now facing charges under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, along with other relevant provisions.
This heartrending event has left the Barkachh village community shocked and distressed. The residents are struggling to come to terms with the brutality of the incident, especially due to the familial connection of the victim and the accused. The incident underscores the need for effective measures to combat violent tendencies and underscores the importance of mental health awareness in rural India.
